¡No se pierdan de los debates forestales del 2012!
Aunque el Año Internacional de los Bosques se haya terminado con el 2011, el 2012 promete ser quizás más importante para la política forestal Europea. A escala global, el evento más sonado será la celebración de Rio+20. A nivel pan-europeo, en el 2012 se iniciará el trabajo de negociación sobre el Acuerdo Jurídicamente Vinculante para los Bosques de Europa. Paralelamente se inicia el nuevo ciclo de FOREST EUROPE que estrena sede en Madrid. En la Unión Europea, este año viene marcado por las negociaciones sobre la Política Agrícola Común, el nuevo Régimen de Sanidad Vegetal, y la revisión de la Estrategia Forestal. Además, pueden ver la luz propuestas sobre la inclusión de la gestión forestal en la política europea de cambio climático (LULUCF) o la puesta en marcha de criterios de sostenibilidad para la biomasa forestal. Todas estas iniciativas se enmarcan en una Estrategia de la UE hacia una economía hipocarbónica en la cual los bosques europeos y la silvicultura deberían tener mucho que decir.
Para que no se pierdan lo más relevante del 2012, hemos preparado una larga, pero no exhaustiva, lista de los principales eventos que se organizarán alrededor del mundo y por supuesto en Europa.
En muchos de estos procesos se puede participar por escrito. Las consultas públicas son una de estas herramientas. Todas las que organiza la Comisión Europea están disponibles en la página “Tu Voz en Europa”. Las que tienen relación con las silvicultura y el sector forestal se pueden acceder desde el sitio web de la USSE.

The USSE is an European Economic Interest Group (AEIE), founded in 1989, which integrates different associations of forest owners in southern Europe, including 3 Portuguese associations, 7 Spanish associations, 2 French ones and one Greek, and it has a close relationship with regional owners and national associations throughout Europe. USSE members are regionally based organizations with broad and rooted knowledge of forestry at local level, market structures and attitudes of forest owners who work in regions, communities or Southern European countries that are part of the European Union.
From this unique force, it aims to develop and unify forestry in different regions, eliminating barriers to achieve broad cooperation and the setting of an integrated, transparent and efficient forest market,

It has taken part in several R&D cooperative projects and it organizes international events.
